The ghost light is a tradition that dates back to Shakespeare's time when a single candle would be left burning in the theatre at night. This was to keep away the spirits of past productions.
This tradition lives on in the superstitious world of theatre, although now the ghost light is a bare electric bulb on a stand. Our production goes public tomorrow, hopefully without the spirits of past productions  |
